Hello, all --

I’m posting this on a couple of lists, so please forgive me if you get this
more than once.

I’ve agreed to costume the local HS’s production of Cinderella, and I wanted to
pick your brains about the magical transformation into the ball gown. This is
what I’m thinking:

A fitted, elegant top w/ a wide, scoopy neck that goes below the waist. Over
that she’d wear a (joined, but looking like two) peasanty blouse (w/ a higher
neck that would cover the elegant top) and frumpy jumper, which would open as
one unit down either the front or back, probably w/ Velcro, maybe w/ snaps.
(She’ll have someone helping her pull off the quick change.) Whip off the
frumpy jumper and attach a wrap-on skirt to the elegant top, very full but made
of a soft, drapey material that wouldn’t weigh too much.

Does that sound like a workable plan? Are there other ideas that might work as
well or better? Has anyone else dealt with a similar situation, and, if so,
what was the best solution?

Thanks so much in advance for either advice or affirmation!

:)

KP
