I took a pic of the back of a statue in the Cluny Museum in Paris. Unfortunately, I couldn't move to the other side to actually SEE the buckle. The statue is from Stephani, called Female Donor, France 1463. The rest of the details are too fuzzy to read (no flash and no tripod, ugh!). Hope this helps somewhat!

Good picture! Is that trim sewn down to act as a belt loop, do you think, or just hanging over? (and is she carrying a baby, or playing a bagpipe?!)

Wait! I'd totally forgotten that I'd taken a picture of the *front* too, I was so excited to be able to see the back!

Here it is! http://www.geocities.com/audreybmorin/Varia/images/P7060179.JPG

She's praying, not holding anything, except some kind of cloth under her right arm.

As for the trim being sewn in place, somehown I think it's not, but it might be. At this point, your guess is as good as mine, unless someone else can help here :-) _______________________________________________
