Thanks everyone for the comments on the regency gown. I expected the sheer embroidered fabric to be a pain to sew but it was surprisingly easy--a new, tiny, sharp needle probably helped. I'll consider adding the satin to more than just the sleeves.

They say c. 1810 but I'm betting it's later given the heaviness of the bodice decoration. It would probably require some heavy stylised skirt/hem piped decoration and a corded petticoat as well. What do you think?

And for fabric I'm thinking silk taffeta...
