I always felt so:) What I also found interesting was the lacing going through the dress rather than lacing rings. I've thought about it on and off and just what it is made of etc. I do suspect that is a long partlet she is wearing. Or two hemden maybe for more warmth? I have some examples of partlets being worn over dresses. There is possibly another warm layer between the two?
