The wire frame for the Gable Headdress, which I copied for the
Museum, was on display, and also a frame for a French hood!!!
Thanks Suzi for sharing this info. I really have to get to Great
Britain someday... I really do.
But until then, do you happen to have images of these frames for
both the Gable and the French hood? Or know where one can find such
images, like a book or catalog or online?
As far as I know there are no images of the frames anywhere, but I
will ask next time I am in the Museum for research - next week
actually. Face to face with the curators is always better than
mailing or phoning.
The Museum is totally accessible as there are lifts all around at
street level, and the Museum itself is on only two levels, with lift
access to both, to the best of my knowledge. Most of the cases are
easily viewable from a wheelchair I would guess.
Suzi
They are completely accessible, and they used to, and I'm sure they
still do, have motorized wheelchairs available to make the museum
more accessible to patrons. All the cases were clearly visible from
wheelchair height.
Cheers,
Danielle
