If you present a production in correct period sets and costumes you're seen as having no imagination and the rest of the opera/theatre world dismisses you ***************************** Not exactly. You all seem to forget that period accurate costumes and sets don't always work. They are fine for people interested in history....and even then they may be historically interesting but not dramatically interesting or a service to the production. We live in the 21st century, not the 17th. The only advantage that period interps of period shows have is that they automatically have a legitimate reason for being used with said play or opera or whatever. I just think that period designs have as much a chance at being awful and irrelevant as modern designs. _______________________________________________ h-costume mailing list [email protected] http://mail.indra.com/mailman/listinfo/h-costume
