This is hindsight, but I would have researched and bought the busk
first before starting the corset, and then adjust the corset length so the
available busk works.
But if you need a long corset for fashions which are fitted over the hips
(such as the early 1880s) then a shorter corset isn't going to work, which
would mean that I would need to buy a long busk anyway (not to mention the
rest of the boning, postage and the fabric) when I get around to making a
bustle or natural form period gown.
Why do you have to buy the rest of the boning in the same place? Is
there a minimum order?
I don't want to pay postage plus bank fees (my bank charges a fee for any
overseas payments on my credit card) on 2 separate orders because the extra
postage would probably eat up any saving I made.
