If it were me, I'd be doing the camicia embroidery in gold, since the
original looks to be gold.  The colors of the gown look to me to be a gold
and a darker gold (brown? black?) pattern, so gold would work nicely with
the original fabric.  With your possible gown fabric? Hmmm....dunno.
Probably still do it in gold, but carefully choosing a "shade" of gold
thread that best went with the mustard tones of the fabric.  Or just
*possibly* doing it in blue--I don't know of any extant camicia (or Italian
portraits) that show blue embroidery (at least, not this early on a snowy
morning), but there *IS* that boy's shirt from slightly earlier in the 16th
century, which is now in theV&A.
