I'm new to costumes or Renaissance clothing so it works for me. I can make just about anything I want to from a picture or sketch. I make my own patterns and styles from other sources. I use the patterns for the basis or beginning foundations of any design. I seldom make one without altering it to the situation.
I don't do many message boards... what is IMHO?

Yes Simplicity has patterns that they have labeled Renaissance.
IMHO, They work for when you need something in a hurry and just want
something that sort of looks like 1500s gowns.
If you know how to remove darts you can improve upon some of the patterns.
With the exception of the kirtle and sideless they produced and silly them
discontinued, you have to alter their patterns to make them more "period" in
construction. (Only talking about their "Medieval" and "Renaissance"
patterns)

Simplicity has several Renaissance patterns at local fabric stores. They are
very similar to these and in adult sizes. Check there.
