Hoo-rah, my Secret Santa package arrived this weekend! Debbie from West Yorkshire sent me a lovely package (twice...it's quite the story!) with several nice skeins of naturally-dyed silk and wool embroidery threads made by a lady in Wales, a small bag of dyed merino-cross wool for my spinning, a cute little book on York, and a frame-able scroll/poster on the highlights of the history of York. Very cool, since I'm big on embroidery (and like to experiment with natural dyes), AND York is one of my favorite places in Britain. Poor Debbie had to send the package twice, because the eejits at the Royal Mail somehow misunderstood the customs declaration label AND the address label for the U.S., and sent it *back* to her (at the return address). It must have had quite the trip, because I'd managed to goof up the address info when I sent it to Dawn, so it's more than a little bit of a miracle that it made it at all! I'm going to have lots of fun spinning my dyed merino fluff at the next SCA event I attend--I have a modern wheel that I use a lot at home, but use my little dropspindle at events. ;o) --Sue in Montana
