There is a pattern in Costume Closeup from Colonial >Williamsburg i could
use.

I have found cotton knit at any of the lower end fabric stores here in the
States, especially in the summer, although I do have to watch carefully to
make sure it's 100% cotton. I also found the lovely white lacey fabric used
for the stockings shown on my site on eBay.
For wool knit (jersey)I need to go to the high end fabric stores which
cater to those of us looking for "real" fabrics. I'm sure it is also
available at online stores.
