I'm familiar with the fashionfabricsclub lightweight taffeta, and it's
definitely too lightweight for an outer layer. I got a bunch from the
outlet store to use for lining & facing, but this stuff is more like rustly
habotai; I can't give you ounces, but I'd guess it's 12mm at the most.
I expect I'd be very happy with the 4 oz stuff, as I found the 2.25
perfectly useable for the outer layer of a lined gown; it'd be great to have
the option of the 5.3 oz stuff as well. Does your supplier have any
shot/iridescent/changeable/crossdye/whatever she calls it taffeta?
