It is more brittle and shouldn't be creased long-term, but... depending on the exact variety, some of it is has a tensile strength of up to 7 times that of silk, so it's not intrinsically weak. It's more absorbent than linen, holds dye a bit better, and in general is stronger when wet, doesn't shrink, and has a luster that actually increases with laundering. Also, it seems to be easier to find smooth & fine ramie of the sort that I like for chemises than linen of the same quality. So I still like it better!
