Basically I just made sure to get the thread in between the feather fronds and right against the stem so no 'fuzzy parts' were under the thread. I tacked them down in two places to keep them where they were supposed to be; the day was exceedingly windy and the photo was taken several hours into the night (as you may be able to tell from my drooping sleeves, grr).
