The other thing I would suggest is to cut the length somewhere below the knee, but well above the ankle, perhaps 10" up, somewhere around mid calf or higher. This will keep your white wool off the ground and out of reach of most mud and grass, splashed water, and such. Much easier to keep clean if it's not in the muck in the first place. :)
