Zeff also did a good "Otello" where all the men are Renaissance HUNKS!
Not well reviewed musically though.
There is also a very good film of "Carmen" with Placido Domingo.
Yes--Carmen can actually _dance_! I saw "Carmen" on stage in the old
style when I was a kid. What I mean by the old style was the singers,
all built like refrigerators, just stand around and sing arias. Or do
they still do that in live opera? Great singing but the erotic aspects
just weren't there.
