My reference comes from almost a century earlier than the crank pinker you bought--I checked the picture of yours when you bought it. Do you have a picture of a crank pinker for home use like the one you bought but from the early 19th century/Regency period? All the other references I have from the same document are for an emporte-pièce, that is a punch, for pinking. From context the arrache-pièce à dents is something that pinks both edges of a strip of material, but I do not know whether it is a two-sided punch or some other kind device.

Thanks,

Fran
