there written by a guy in the SCA about how he organised his fabric stash
but I can't find it so I'll summarise. Basically he put all his fabric in
boxes and had index cards with a sample of the fabric, and it's details
(e.g. how much of the fabric there was, fibre content, price, if it was
intended for a specific project etc) in a separate box so he could put his
fabric in storage but still know what he had and where to find it without
going through his entire stash.
