Is anyone familiar with this painting: http://www.joslyn.org/permcol/euro/pages/veronese.html
or have access to a larger or more detailed image?

I am trying to identify what that is dangling under her left arm. My
initial guess is part of a chemise, since she appears to have shrugged
off a loose gown and there is no other layer in site. Also, other
portraits of Venus around this time tend to have a chemise lying around
if she is nude :).

It doesn't seem as if there is enough fabric for a chemise, but the image is so dark it's hard to make out how much might be in the shadow there. I enlarged it and lightened it, and can't quite tell. My guess would be it's a veil and some ribbons attached to her hair, if it's not just some random draping added for artistic value.

I want to know what the round thing under her left foot is. She seems to be standing on it. It looks like the ball foot of a chair, but the position she is in makes that impossible...
