I agree- the leading lady was SO out of period. I kept thinking one hat
looked more like it belonged in "Breakfast at Tiffany's". The costumes
bothered me more than the music.

I enjoyed the movie as well, since I wasn't expecting authenticity either. I
however would have like to have seen the leading lady in costumes more
appropriate to the setting.  That was too jarring, when everyone else around
her was wearing something closer to the correct stuff.

I try to enjoy movies for their entertainment value, the story, etc.  it's
just when they try to tell you that the film is historically correct that I
get upset over the details that are just so wrong...
