I'll have to take a closer look at both the series and the movie with
the "pause" button at the ready. I guess I'm thinking "duster =
tailoring" and am perhaps assuming that it's more complicated than it
is!

As it is, if I ever get to this project, I'd have to use ultrasuede or
similar - I've never worked with leather and if I'm not certain of the
pattern it would be a very expensive mistake if I made one!

I'm thinking of the full kit - vest, duster over, riding pants, etc.
I'm sure there's a Firefly costuming site out there, I just have to
look!

OB H-costume: much of the settlers' clothing in Firefly appears to be
heavily based on American frontier/19th century clothing (think
"Little House On The Prairie"). In one scene one of the heroes wears a
very fetching pink floral bonnet as a disguise :P
