I'll have to check. The guy who invited me is from a unit of Highlanders, 
but I was thinking I'd just stick to my civilian clothes. Unfortunately, 
those have about everything I need -- except a coat.

OTOH, if it's strictly military thing, I'll probably just stick to modern 
stuff.

Which Rev war event are you going to?  There are alot of variatins that can be 
used.
  Alot depends on who you are going with, and where it is.  The Northeast tends 
to be more (straightlaced?) in regards to clothing , the Highlanders  
especially in the south can be a  bit looser in alot of things.  You can always 
use the alternative of smallclothes, shoes and hat and a work smock or shirt 
over the top very natural, very authentic, pretty fast to put together.  and it 
makes you a local farmer hanging out with the troops and selling his produce or 
a camp follower/drover who drives the baggage wagons you get the drift of this 
thought.
