You could do body paint, like that guy who does trompe l'oeil on models in
Holland (I think) Might get you an interesting review, though.   :-)

I'd say greater than scenery...though of course scene designers might  
disagree. A scene designer can suggest a wall or a tree or whatever. You
cannot  
suggest a bodice or a pair of shoes. They have to be there. And you can do a

play with no scenery... Moliere and Shakespeare did all the time. But actors

must wear something. And if you're looking at the actor [which I hope you
are],  
you're looking at the costume.
