In my case, making it myself often means that it will be made less sturdily 
than someone else would make it--another reason I would rather buy than sew.  
That isn't always the case, though, and the process of determining whether I 
can make a particular item more satisfactorily than I could buy it is, for 
me, often a source of fun.
