I did on the first submission but it came back So I cut it shorter. Like I
said, this is my first assignment and it was a broad issue with little
specifics except a question that cam be answered yes/no. So I'm learning how
to ask a question as well as how to gather data. It's a learning experience.
It's all done now.
As far as off-topic, I've seen several that were not far from this so I
thought it would be fine to ask on this board. I'll limit my responses to
costuming from now on. I'll ask if anyone wants to help, then send it
privately.

Hi Becky.
The problem was not asking the questions. The problem was that you did
not start off by explaining what the questions are for and an explanation
of how they would be used.
Unrelated messages on this list are usually an offspring of a costume
discussion.
I dont think Ann had any problem with the survey either, except for the
fact that it appeared without explanation and purpose and totally
unrelated to the discussions.
When you do surveys like this, you really need to write a synopsis of
"what is the purpose with this survey" " How will the information be used"
and "In what context will the information be used".
Sorry to be a little pedantic here, but I have had statistics at college
and my professor was very strict with the "design" of the inquiry.

I received my syllabus yesterday and within it's lists is the assignment
of
this survey. TO ask a question that can be answered with yes or not, then
other related information to use as graphed or plotted points to find
certain information that will lead to the locabulary words of the
textbook.
It is to teach us how to apply some of this new information as well as
show
us why it is used.
I'm sorry if such a online discussion question offends you. I thought the
formum would be an open discussion area since I've seen unrelated messages
and topics before this. Reply only if you wish to. Nothing is required,
just
volunteer. All information is confidential and names are not important for
the plotting of this data gathering assignment.

And what class is that? I think we would have been more receptive to
your
original message if you had prefaced the survey with, "I have been
assigned to
give this survey for my class in xxxxx, and I would appreciate it if you
could assist me by answering it."
