People's minds are not programmed in the same way. I can do okay knitting, not very good at all with crocheting, I can do real good beadwork. My sister is excellent in knitting and crocheting but can't do beadwork. She is an excellent sewer but has problems with being creative with designs. I am not an excellent sewer but I sew well and can be creative with designs. Example: When my sister was trying on her wedding dress which had a Edwardian style to it, she was dreading the loop on the wrist for the train. I immediately saw that you could place buttons under a strip of lace and strategic loops on the train and pull up the train into a bustle look. Give my sister a pattern she will alter it to fit and sew it like it looks on the cover. She is a left brain person and I am a mostly right brained person. :) De
-----Original Message----- ??? I don't understand the problem here. I can knit and crochet (and quilt and embroider), and I could both knit and crochet when I was a child. My grandmother taught me -- my mother taught me to hook rugs and needlepoint and cross stitch. This was long after polio, but I was a crafty kid (I also learned macrame and tons of other crafts). I did a couple of crocheted afghans when I was around 12, and lots of knitted scarves and things (I wasn't interested enough in knitting to learn to make sweaters). Knitting and crocheting are both very simple. Gail Finke _______________________________________________ h-costume mailing list [email protected] http://mail.indra.com/mailman/listinfo/h-costume
