With me I think it's the quantity that makes clerks curious--I try never to buy less than 10 yards just to make sure I'll have enough for whatever I make with it when the time comes. ************************ This is exactly what I do. Not only is it usually enough, it's easy to figure out how much your spending....just move that decimal point over. But at places like Jo Ann's, there is usually only 8 yards on an uncut bolt...damnit! So I have lots of 8 yard lengths....some in 2 pieces. Also many fine 5 & 6 yard pieces....since you can get an untrimmed plain dress out of 5 yards....and if the fabric is fantastic, who needs matching trim? Now if I can just stop making contemporary clothes for my niece and sister and do one of MY projects..... I feel a frilly frock coming on though. I'm dying to do an 18th century gown. I haven't for decades! _______________________________________________ h-costume mailing list [email protected] http://mail.indra.com/mailman/listinfo/h-costume
