Even G Street Fabrics does not seem to carry nearly the assortment of
apparel fabrics or trims that they used to. I think they are pushing
their >custom home decorating business more.

I was at G-Street Seven Corners last weekend (for my annual pilgrimage
since I live in Calif) and they had tons of colors & weights of linen.
Sure it was OMG pricey, but it was there ,which is more than I can say
for any shop in Silicon Valley. Not much in wools, but then nobody
who's sane buys wool in DC in the summer. Lots of books & patterns for
historicals (Folkwear, Peggee of Wmsburg, Medieval Misc, etc).

There wasnt much in dress weights for the silk, satin, brocade &
taffeta historicals that I like. Most of the fancy dress up fabric
(and there was lots!) were predecorated in sequins, embroid, and/or
shinies. Nothing I could use for Renn to Ragtime. Again, this is
possibly a seasonal/ fabric weight marketing thing. DC specializes in
hot & muggy.

I bought a book then they threw me out cuz it was closing time,
