Hi Albertcat,
Thanks for your posting, i am always willing to take critisism, and you are
right it would have ben more beautifull with a ruffle on the skirt, but
dresses without ruffles also excists, take for instance the weddingdress in
cut of womens clothes, wich has the same puffed trimmings as the yellow
dress, and no ruffle.
But to tell you the truth it was because i wanted to finish that dress, that
i discharged the ruffle, it had already taken much two much of my sparetime,
and i had to end the matter.
I also said it would be the last dress i would make, but i have to take my
words and eat them, because i have another dress in mind for this winter
season...............
Thanks for your note.................
Bjarne

MMmmmmmmm....yummy butter yellow. The embroidery is stunning.
But of course I have to complain. I miss the ruffle on the petticoat. I
think it needs it, especially with the fancier "bird" stomacher. The
petticoat
looks unfinished in the context of 18th century wide pannier gowns. Were
it worn
over pads and more modest without a train and such, the ruffle-less
petticoat might fly. But my mind wants to see some fussy 3-d something
peaking out
from the front edges of the gown. It's just part of the aesthetic.
But don't mind me....it's a beautiful stunning ensemble.
