As recent discussion has been on the topic of good costume history books for a class specifically on that topic I started thinking about my group's lack of resources to point newbies at. Does anybody have recommendations for a book with a lot of good re-drawings so I can hand it over to newbies and say 'pick a picture you like anywhere between 600 and 1600' (the text is not as important as accurate line drawings which allow a newbie to visualise how it will look in real life) and once they've narrowed it down to a century we can start looking at more specific resources. All of my current books focus on the 16th century or later and I don't have a good overview book of the whole Medieval/Renaissance period.
thanks
Elizabeth
