Hi Bjarne,
I use 3 widths on all of my petticoats, I like the fullness. On the full hoop I made, I used four widths, with a front panel of fancy fabric, and the three widths gathered across the back.

Kelly, who can't wait to see it when it's finished

Subject: [h-cost] yardage for a anglaise dress underskirt

Hello,
I wanted to ask you all about how many widths you would use of a taffeta fabric 140 cm. wide - to an underskirt of an anglaise dress? I want it to be rather full with a bumroll, would 3 widths be two much? I am nearly finishing the embroidery for the skirt front and have calculated 140 cm, to show in the front. Perhaps 3 widths is two much?

I used to use 4 yards, when fabric was 36" wide, therefor 4 widths. However, I sometimes find two widths of 140 cm can be enough. I think 3 widths would be too much. However, I think I would use two and a half for your new dress.
