Not necessarily -- he could have hated what he heard much more modernly. Also, even if he did hear swearing when he was younger, what he heard could have been (and probably was) different from what is used modernly. (Heck, what I hear modernly is much, much different from what I heard when I was younger, and I'm only 41!)

Language changes over time, and swearing is language.
