I just thought of one myself---Giant. It is supposed to start out in
the 1920's, I believe, only it's really hard to tell by the costumes.
They may have added a dropped waist or two to the otherwise obviously
1950s style dresses. I think I read something about the designer's
approach to the costuming at one time, but I can't recall what it was
now. Anyone else know?

I worked once for Moss Mabry, who did Liz's things fro many a movie. He once
said to me that historic costuming was easy and a bore because you just
copied portraits! He thought only modern costuming [as in fashion design] was
worth while.
