Thank you all for the links and movie reminders. The only movies I had that
came close were St. Elmo's Fire and My Chauffer, so we FF through and got
some ideas. Having less than a day's notice we had to work with what was
already in the house, so it was a hodge-podge, but she did get some elements
of "the look."
It was sort of a combo of the preppy-powersuit look and the wild-child
Lauper. Big hair with curls pulled over to a side ponytail, high-contrast
eye make-up and dark glossy lips. Big-shouldered, long suit jacket with the
sleeves rolled up; tux-collared white shirt with the collar points turned up
and a big sparkle brooch over the top button (couldn't find a skinny tie).
And a stickpin in the lapel. It would have been better with some of those
fingerless lace gloves, but didn't have any. We wanted to do colored pumps
with ankle socks, but couldn't come up with that either.
She has a cross country meet tonight, she might have to dunk her head in a
bucket to get rid of the Big Hair! Too much wind resistance :-) Thanks
for all your help!
