I have never seen any without a back piece. Also i dont think a dress
without would fit propperly, the sides of the bodice needs support in the
back.

She asks if a Robe a la Francaise (sorry no proper marks) always has a
split and laced up back. Has anyone seen the inside of one that doesn't?
If so, are you able to give more information like pictures - always
supposing you have permission to share them? I would appreciate any help.
