The closures may keep the fabric together, but the closures don't make the effect. Williams reveals enough about the tricks to sell the book, but not nearly enough to recreate either the costumes or the performance. In the magicians' community, revealing the secrets behind a trick is a violation of trust. If Williams wants to continue to sell to the community, they're not going to tell enough secrets to do the trick; to learn that you have to buy the book. Or three.
