I agree, but they may well figure if there's that much demand they would get 
more $$ with a higher price.  

I'm not convinced that the publishers of such scholarly works have a good idea 
of how to price their works to capture the reenactor/costumer market as well.  

Recently, I learned from a Swedish friend on another costume list that the 
University of Umea, which had published Margareta Nockert's book on the Hogom 
find, had only three copies left.  Because she knew that another friend on 
the list and I were interested, she called the university and asked them for 
the price.  That price?  68 Swedish Kroner--about $9.00 USD!  Even with 
postage from Sweden, the book didn't quite cost me $20--a fraction of what I 
would have paid to get it.  

On the other hand, the Oseberg textile book is not only expensive (possibly 
justifiable depending on the quality of the photographs) but it's like 
pulling teeth to get the publisher to accept the common forms of 
payment.  :-(
