I always loved the idea, it helped out the Set Production people. All you had to do is make sure that the 'outside' door was always on the same wall,, and VIOLA!! instant set changes without trying to figure out where to put the new room/ hallways/ pool/ art gallery/ wardrobe room.... without giving the floor plan people fits...
