It sounds like she's asking for fabric that's specially woven for use in Hardanger embroidery (the pairs of threads is a good give-away). Depending on where you are located, you should be able to find it in packets at your local Michael's or JoAnn's. Come to think of it, I think my local JoAnn's may have it by the yard.
