The actual flag flying during the battle & inspiring
Mr. Key is extant, and is made of cloth.  Wool bunting
from England for stripes and union and appliqued white
cotton stars.

There's been a major re-conservation of the flag
(1998-2005), which the Smithsonian did right behind a
big window, installed for the purpose, so visitors to
the museum could watch the conservators at work, and
see the flag.
