Yep.

The first set were "in grain," meaning kyed with kermes (exhorbitantly
expensive). But the second were just "blue cloth."

I too would love to know what the original said. Newton's translations
aren't always inarguable. 

Worth noting also this is for a king, so we'd need a few steps more to
generalize either to a lower class level or to women.
