Let's see. I've forgotten the name of the lady on the left, with the doll. Judy Mitchell is in the white t-shirt. Then me in goth Gothic, Dawn gone wild, and Tearose. The glow-sticks were being used as admission tokens and are not parts of the costumes! My friend Don, who was at my elbow snapping pictures for most of the con, has just put up a few on his blog. This is an anime blog so he's focused mostly on cosplay costumes (most of which go right over my head), but there are others here too, and he'll be posting much more in the next few days. For now: http://tancos2.pmachinehosting.com/animelog_comments.php?id=P2991_0_2_0 Second photo is the Best In Show group entry of "Trinity Blood." About halfway down are Dawn and Tearose as pirates (there was a pirate theme for hall costumes one day). The pseudo-Munsch picture is the back of a bowling shirt; some time ago the St. Louis Costume Guild did a series of shirts in the styles of various artists. Below that is a junior masquerade entry that won an award for being "Too Cute To Live." I don't know the rest. http://tancos2.pmachinehosting.com/animelog_comments.php?id=2992_0_2_0_C These are mostly from the masquerades. Top, Gypsy Ames in a truly impressive Hindu-goddess-inspired-something- or-other; I was too bedazzled to note the name as her presentation was a showstopper. A bit lower is a manticore that also won a top masquerade award; I learned later that the fellow inside works with big cats for a living, which may explain why he moved so realistically in that thing. Some ways down, the woman with the flower in her hair and the dotty dress is the 1940s torch singer who won Best In Show at the historical masquerade; I was amused to see later, close up, that the dots on the dress are actually little chickens. Then a masquerade entry "The Eyes and Ears of Pharoah," and below that a very beautiful and fanciful interpretation (with moving stick puppets) of the Hobbit. And ending with Don and me in our Goth-ic, already posted here. I probably missed some h-costumers in my sporadic IDs. Identify yourselves! More to come. --Robin _______________________________________________ h-costume mailing list [email protected] http://mail.indra.com/mailman/listinfo/h-costume
