American Girl had clothes for real girls, just like the doll clothes. I don't know if they still do, though. My daughter is 21 now. She wants better costumes. AND she even took a sewing class, so I "help" now, instead of having to do the whole thing!

I'm not really familiar with what's available, commercially, for children, though, so I couldn't say for sure. I've heard of the whole "American Girl" thing (dolls and books and all), but that's about it. --Sue ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sharon Collier" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'Historical Costume'" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, April 09, 2007 9:43 PM Subject: RE: [h-cost] Movie influences on fashion - shoes > Was she perhaps wearing an "American Girl" dress, Felicity reproduction? > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On > Behalf Of Sue Clemenger > Sent: Monday, April 09, 2007 6:40 PM > To: Historical Costume > Subject: Re: [h-cost] Movie influences on fashion - shoes > > > Speaking of historical influences, when I was at brunch with friends this > past Sunday, we saw the cutest little girl (7 or 8), wearing the most > adorable child's version of an 18th century gown, complete with petticoat. > The rest of the family was in ordinary "good clothes," and she was in her > best dress.
