Bjarne, have you ever tried stumpwork? I have a wonderful book on it http://tinyurl.com/3x42t6 and though I "stink" at embroidery, I've even managed to make some pretty cool stuff. Even if you never made any of the things in this book, it is wonderful eye candy. She - Jane Nichols - has a website with kits and stuff, but I can't seem to find it.
