Hi everyone, I am preparing to make some drops for a stage production, the directors notes for the set drape call for "China Silk", we are poor so I

...and for a look at how china silk acts as a drop (and why it is just so different from any kind of polyester) go rent "Hero" starring Jet Li, directed by Zhang Yimou, and watch the scene where the Emperor is fighting the Assassin in a hall filled with silk drops--stunning!

A note on mm:
3 mm - almost sheer, like holding air
5 mm - barely opaque, very lightweight
8 mm - think fine silk scarf

Oh, and Rupert, Gibbon and Spider also have good habotai prices, though only black and white: http://www.silkconnection.com/products/fabric/silk/habotai/
