I have a number of fabrics I've bought over the years, and am now making myself do something with them!

It is a silk brocade. I was thinking about making something like a pet-en-l'air, (French Jacket) as found on page 30 of Arnolds Pattern's of Fashion 1. If it is not enough yardage, I figure I can make one of the Jackets on page 26. Anyone who knows this period think it may not be appropriate? The second may be harder. It is tapestry, also 54 inches wide. I have a little over 2 yards. I love this fabric, but it is a little bright. The second picture gives you the best sense of how bright it is. It is 'reversible,' but I am not sure I like the "wrong" side enough to not line it. But I have no idea what it is appropriate for. I would love to hear any opinions on both! Thanks for looking!
