Julie,

Temporary spray adhesive? It's designed like the air-soluble marking pens - to lightly stick something down for embroidery then go away. Put your applique in a box to control over-spray, then lightly mist. This will make it like a post-it note. I believe there are glue sticks that are like post-it adhesive also, but I don't think they're designed for fabric.

Also, as with anything, test first. I think the brand on the can I have is Sulky - same as the embroidery thread.

Sandy

Subject: [h-cost] embroidery question

I've used Wonder Under when I was planning a machine satin stitch over the applique. I'm looking for a way to keep the edges turned under for hand applique. I usually sew my applique with a backing of some very light fabric - maybe even netting - and then turn the shape much like a pillowcase. No fighting with teeny seam allowances but doesn't stick to the base fabric either. Any ideas for sticking?
