Hi folks...

I've finally gotten the brown kirtle pretty much done. Yay me! I tried
it on for a final fitting the other night to get the hem dealt with,
and I'll be, it fit. It actually fit very, very well. And it did what
I wanted it to do.

The problem, as you will see in the photo is the sleeves. It seems
that I have taken a) too long to sew this dress together and b) that
my weight training regime really is working. In short, my arms are too
large for the sleeves. I do have a couple of ideas of how to fix that,
but I thought I would ask here, just in case someone else has a
better idea before I get started.

The armhole is fine, the problem is that I have increased the size of
my biceps by a full inch, and also increased the size of my forearm by
about 1/2". And the dress was cut with skin tight arms, with the
buttons placed on the outer edge of the opening.

And one other note, I have learned that when you are experimenting,
for goodness sake don't hand-sew. Save the 100% hand-sewn love and
attention for things that are *not* experiments. You would think I
would know that by now, you would think I would know that by now.

There is a photo up, it can give you an idea of the problem, but not much more.

Suggestions?
Thanks,
Mari
