I bought the whole set at the time, minus the artist canvas. It was about $45
(maybe 7 years ago?). The products are fabulous. The linens are slub-less,
even the heaviest weights. The color ranges are gorgeous, in the most
beautiful natural dyed looking colors. They have a selection of "denims" (not
quite that heavy) which are really pretty for a homespun look.

If I had to be selective, I would get the basic linen card - light weight.
That will give you a great range of things to select from to dye with, or use
as is. If you are looking for colors for dresses, etc. I would get the Lin De
Flandre selection. This has the weight of a rayon/linen blend, but a little
stiffer. The Normande range has nice colors too, but the samples were
completely pasted down so I can't quite get a sense of the hand. I would say
it is a little heavier than the Lin De Flandre. I would avoid the
Misto....too coarse a weave unless you want something like a placemat!

Since I bought awhile back, the ranges may not be named the same. They are
very helpful and would be able to cross reference them.

As to a light weight lining for Otisto, the Voile de Lin would be great. It is
a slightly open weave and not veil weight, but for a soft, light lining it
would be great.

They aren't cheap, but they are like nothing you find over here or from, say,
the Linen Store. The quality is superior. When I buy from them, it is for a
special thing...otherwise, I live with the rayon/linen blends for dress stuff.

Thanks for the site, Saragrace. Have you ordered from them and what do you
think of their linen? I am always looking for good sources. Also, what
sample cards did you order to get a range of what they offer? Do you mean
all of the Home Collection, New Card and Artist Canvas collections?

  I'm easily confused!

(Have a grand time in Belgium! - we were there and in the Netherlands last
fall and the art museums are fabulous.)

You may be thinking of The Linen House.

http://thelinenhouse.com/<http://thelinenhouse.com/<http://thelinenhouse.com/%3Chttp://thelinenhouse.com/>>
  I have their complete
  sample collection.
Their Napoli, Voile De Lin, Lille, Roma & Veneszia would all work for under
  clothing.

I'd say the Napoli is the softest and finest, but I bet if you wrote and
  asked them they would help.

I'll be there in September! Weeee! I wonder if they'd mind if I wrapped
myself up in a few yards just to get a rush!

Hmmm..I remember that at the end of the past discuss someone produced a
website so perhaps this woman is not the one I was thinking of. Please
  hold
off on the email address. I guess what I am going to have to do is do a
major search through the archives and see if I can find the retailer. If
that fails then I will be asking for the woman's email address.
    Thank you, greatly appreciated,
    De
