I don't know the whole story, but I understand it is supposed to be Jane  
Austen in 1795.  The promo photo I saw, with her in a high-waisted satin  
evening 
gown and hair piled on her head, DOES NOT look 1795 to me--a good 10  years 
later, at the least, and more like 15.  
But I'll go see the  movie, like everyone else.
